Letters: Water For Our Wells???

We received this letter today. I really wish we had the answers to these questions. We all need to get in touch with our representatives and start a letter campaign and make some noise about these issues. Or it will be too late!

To Whom it May Concern:

QUESTION: How will we get WATER for our Wells when the HSR comes through and DEPLETES THE AQUIFERS that fill our wells?

1) Is the government PIPING IN WATER TO US?
2) Is the government paying for permanent “water hauling” costs??
3) How are we to live without water?

I’ve been asking this question for a number of years now. Still no answer from anyone.

Now it appears as if the Government does not care what it is doing to us, how much it is taxing us, taking advantage of us or what it is doing to anyone in regards to plowing right through our city and ruining so much of our lives. The Government is doing what they want at our (citizens) expense and the expense of our environment and lives. **No one voted for what is happening now*** yet the government is adjusting things to work for themselves at our expense.

I’ve tried to get answers from the government about our Water issues and still nothing. No answers, no one cares.

I hope someone can answer this question as it is a very serious and pertinent question and WILL AFFECT MANY, MANY RESIDENTS here, whether they realize yet or not. This will destroy lives.

High Speed Rail News
Our local group of concerned citizens opposing the High Speed Rail “Acton and Agua Dulce High Speed Rail” is happy to announce that maps of the three proposed alignments of the High Speed Rail through Acton and Agua Dulce have been successfully added to our website, actonhighspeedrail.com. Please log in to our website to see how user friendly it is and sign up to receive notifications of new posts by email. Our website is also linked to Face Book and Twitter. In addition, we have a new dedicated email address AADCHSR@aol.com. We will be keeping our website updated with important announcements and news related to the High Speed Rail. We welcome your suggestions and ideas for our website and hope that the website will continue to be a dependable source of information for our community.
A small victory for the opponents of the HSR occurred on May 16, 2013 when State officials agreed to drop a request to consolidate all lawsuits challenging California voter’s use of $10 billion in bonds for construction of the HSR. This allows the Proposition 1A lawsuit filed in 2011 in Kings County to begin hearing arguments May 31, 2013 against spending voter-approved bond money for construction of this project as currently proposed. In accordance with this lawsuit, the current high-speed rail plans do not comply with the requirements voters approved in 2008 when they passed Prop 1A. If successful, this lawsuit will halt the HSR project. In the event that this lawsuit fails, we, as a community, need to be ready for Plan B.

Our group “Acton and Agua Dulce High Speed Rail” will be hosting a booth at the June 2, 2013 Chamber of Commerce Car Show at Thousand Trails. Come support our efforts and take a look at the maps of the proposed HSR alignments through Acton and Agua Dulce. We will have volunteers available to answer your questions regarding the negative impacts of the High Speed Rail on our community.

We will soon be launching a campaign to raise money for the preparation and response to the High Speed Rail DRAFT EIR. We will need to retain an attorney and hire the various environmentalists, scientists, engineers, etc to defend and protect our community against the negative impacts of the HSR. The expense involved is considerable.

On May 18, 2013, the High Speed Rail Authority launched a new and updated website. Their new web address is hsr.ca.gov. Their old website highspeedrail.ca.gov will run in parallel with the new website for a short time period. The HSRA website indicates that Acton and Agua Dulce are included in phase 1 of the HSR construction project!

Please report any concerns of trespass onto your property by the High Speed Rail Authority or their contractors to the Palmdale Sheriff Department 661-272-2400. Do not take the law into your own hands!

We are considering entering a float for the 4th of July parade to further educate our community and bring attention to the High Speed Rail. We are discovering that a substantial number of community members are still not aware that a train is coming through! We look forward to the assistance of any interested parties in the development and assembly of our float.

As always, we appreciate the community support we have received in our fight against the High Speed Rail. We solicit and welcome the aid and expertise of any and all community members interested in donating time and energy to this worthy cause.

High Speed Rail News

Our local group of concerned citizens opposing the High Speed Rail “Acton and Agua Dulce High Speed Rail” is happy to announce that a member of our community has volunteered to manage and maintain our website. Our web address is actonhighspeedrail.com. She is currently working on loading a map of the proposed alignments through Acton and Agua Dulce. We are also hopeful to have a sound simulation of the high speed train added soon. We will be keeping the website updated with important announcements and news related to the High Speed Rail. We welcome suggestions and ideas for our website and hope that the website will become a dependable source of information for our community.

We will be hosting a booth at the June 2, 2013 Chamber of Commerce Car Show at Thousand Trails and will have maps of the proposed HSR alignments available for review.

We are considering entering a float for the 4th of July parade. We welcome the assistance of any interested parties in the development and assembly of our float.

We are actively monitoring the Prop 1A lawsuit which will start being litigated on May 31, 2013. We are hopeful and optimistic that the outcome of this lawsuit will halt the implementation and construction of the HSR. In the event that this lawsuit fails, we, as a community, need to be ready for Plan B.

We are approaching a timetable for the solicitation of funds for our fight against the HSR. We need to start preparing for our response to the upcoming DRAFT EIR. We will need to retain an attorney and hire the various environmentalists, scientists, engineers, etc to defend our community against the negative impacts of the HSR. The expense involved is considerable. We have been operating on a shoe-string budget but we are very grateful for the generous donations of a few of our community members. We could not have come this far without the help of their donations.

We especially thank the four community members who donated the needed $368.00 for the printing and shipping of our recent petition and 695 signatures to Washington, DC. The Surface Transportation Board required 10 copies of this 91 page document! We are optimistic that this effort by our group will have considerable impact on their decision not to grant the HSRA a waiver for the permitting process.

As always, we appreciate the community support we have received in our fight against the High Speed Rail.
